Bang Por Beach
In Koh Samui, Thailand

The palm-fringed white sands of Bang Por Beach lie on a quiet stretch of the northern coast of Koh Samui, facing towards the neighbouring island of Koh Phangan. The beach itself stretches some 4km between Ban Tai in the east and Bang Por in the west, with beach restaurants an easy stroll along the shore.

The calm shallow waters in this part of the Gulf of Thailand offer excellent snorkelling opportunities with shallow coral reefs and many colourful fish within easy reach of the shore.

Quiet and lacking the mass-tourism development found in other areas of the island, there is no noisy nightlife in the immediate vicinity to disturb the tranquillity with only small neighbourhood shopping outlets including a 7/11 convenience store just 1km away.

Just a 5 minute stroll down Bang Por Beach you will find a number of beach restaurants. Turning left along the beach will bring you to Jun Hom, an excellent traditional Thai restaurant and The Sea restaurant offering international cuisine. Whilst in the other direction you will find two more casual bars and restaurants.

On an island of this size however, nothing is ever very far, just a 10 minute drive away you will discover the old Fisherman’s Village of Bophut with a plethora of restaurants and bars on the sea front serving Thai and international cuisine from almost anywhere in the world.

Bang Por Beach - A Holiday Destination at Koh Samui

Koh Samui has been a holiday destination since the 1980s, originally attracting the budget traveller, but now catering to a full range of accommodation types from the backpacker-friendly to five-star luxury hotels, with a wide selection of villa rentals also available.

Banyan Villas are set within tropical gardens some 70 metres from the soft sands and clear waters of Bang Por Beach. They form a significant part of a small beachfront development known as Coconut Paradise, that includes a further 7 privately owned Villas and various communal facilities. In addition to the private facilities available within the sheltered grounds of Banyan Villas, our guests share access to the communal gardens and a glorious 15 metre beachfront pool overlooking the next island of Koh Phanang

Koh Samui is located in the Gulf of Thailand off the Surat Thani coast, a short ferry crossing from Donsak. With clear waters coming from the South China Sea there are numerous coral reefs to explore, with some of the best to be found around nearby islands such as Koh Tao, or the marine park of Ang Thong that lies just a short boat-trip away.

A half-minute stroll through the gardens brings guests to the communal pool that faces directly onto the quiet clear waters of Bang Por Beach.....

With views across to the neighbouring island Koh Phangan, with sun-loungers on the surrounding deck, this can be an irresistable place to relax, open to cooling sea breezes and shaded by overhanging coconut palms characteristic of Koh Samui
