Bang Por Beach
Banyan Villas - Koh Samui – Thailand
The Home of Banyan Villas
The home of Banyan Villas is on the palm-fringed white sands of Bang Por Beach, they lie on a quiet stretch of the northern coast of Koh Samui, facing towards the neighbouring island of Koh Phangan. The beach itself stretches some 4km between Ban Tai in the east and Bang Por in the west, with beach restaurants an easy stroll along the shore. The calm shallow waters in this part of the Gulf of Thailand offer excellent snorkelling opportunities with shallow coral reefs and many colourful fish within easy reach of the shore.
Quiet and lacking the mass-tourism found in other areas of the island, there is no noisy nightlife in the immediate vicinity to disturb the tranquillity with only small neighbourhood shopping outlets. Locally there is a small shop 20 metres from our main entrance and a French bakery together with 7/11 and Family Mart convenience stores just 1km away.
Just a 5-minute stroll down Bang Por Beach you will find a number of beach restaurants. Turning left along the beach will bring you to Jun Hom, an excellent traditional Thai restaurant and The Sea restaurant offering Thai and international cuisine. Whilst in the other direction you will find two more casual bars and restaurants.
On an island of this size however, nothing is ever very far, just a 15-minute drive away you will discover the old Fisherman’s Village of Bophut with a plethora of restaurants and bars on the sea front serving Thai and cuisines from around the world.
